History
More than 40 years ago, this center was a storage tank for Balboa's water supply. It was then made into a cultural center for artists. On the inside and out, there is an art gallery with a mural near the entrance. I don't recall the artist's name but it took him 15 years to paint with some help from others. He had practice as a student and went to Mexico for inspiration. He started painting from left to right and it went on.
Description of Mural
On the left side of the wall it contains darkness and evil. As it moves to the right, it transitions to good. On the left side there's a man being burned and tortured to death. This man is the last leader of the Aztecs being tortured by the Spanish. Also on that side, there's a soldier injecting a cross into his arm. I think this shows how many soldiers try to stay good but only do worse. On the right there is a blue deer that could possibly represent the spirit of good. All in all, the mural is really well drawn and interesting!
